About Jim Cooper
As Executive Editor, Jim Cooper oversees all Mediaweek’s news and feature coverage of the broadcasting, cable, radio, newspaper, magazine publishing and interactive media industries, as well as media regulatory issues, media agencies, television’s creative community in Hollywood and technology developments associated with ad-supported media. He also manages the daily editorial operation of Mediaweek.com. Cooper joined Mediaweek in January 1998 as a senior editor covering the cable industry. He was promoted to news editor in April 2000, and to managing editor in April 2004. Prior to Mediaweek, he had been programming editor at Cablevision Magazine and a staff writer at Broadcasting & Cable. He began his journalism career as a staff writer for The Courier-News, the Gannett Co.-owned daily in Bridgewater, N.J. Cooper graduated from Kenyon College in 1988, and has an M.S. in journalism from Boston University. He lives in Westchester County, N.Y., with his wife and two daughters.
